Market cap, volume, and dominance
Understand how market value, reported turnover and relative market share differ.
Market cap on Dextape is CoinGecko’s circulating supply times last price. Volume is reported 24h turnover. Dominance is that cap as a share of CoinGecko’s total crypto cap. None of these are on-chain settlement facts.
- A stablecoin’s cap is an issuance decision. Read the directory file before the sparkline.
- Volume can exceed market cap because tokens can trade repeatedly. The ratio alone does not establish liquidity or the quality of reported activity.
- BTC dominance rising can mean bitcoin bid — or everything else falling faster. The stacked bar on the homepage is the share, not the cause.
The heatmap sizes cells by cap and paints them by 24h percent. A large green cell is a large coin that printed up, not a recommendation.
